We are a small group of dedicated volunteers based in City of Kawartha Lakes (Lindsay area), Ontario, Canada who support several beautiful children and families in Uganda.
Mission Statement
Kulikayo seeks to support vulnerable children of Uganda and their families, enabling them to reach their full potential.
Vision
Children with strong family attachments living healthy and productive lives.
Values
Attachment – Kulikayo seeks to build and strengthen the relationship between guardian and child
Family – Kulikayo recognizes that families are the primary source of support, guidance, skill development and identity molding for children. We empower families to support children.
Responsibility – Kulikayo believes that guardians are responsible for meeting the basic needs of children including food, shelter, clothing, and minor medical treatment. Guardians should have a strong voice in educational and vocational choices involving their child.
Potential – Kulikayo believes that every child has unique strengths that, if reinforced, will help them develop to their full potential as contributing productive members of their families and communities.
Financial Reporting
The Kulikayo Organization just received approval as a registered charity effective August 22, 2018. Our financial yearend will be December 31. We are in the process of having an accountant go over our books and accounting practices.
The board has been very proud of the fact that all donations and funds raised have been going directly to the care of the children we support, with only a small overhead of accountant fees, bank fees and currency exchange. We are confident that any additional administrative overhead will be covered by targeted donations from 1 or 2 supporters.
