Ian Authur Mulindwa

  • Attending Bugabo primary school in kindergarten
  • Ian is an only child.

Ian was born April 21, 2016.  He's a very bright child and enjoys helping his mom with the animals.  He enjoys football, playing role games and likes defending other kids.

Marjorie Nakitende

Angel Nakimuli Kirabo

Angel loves dancing, modelling clothing, and helping with care of Anthony.  She's very bright in school, and she impressed us with her grasp of English and Lugandan when we visited with her.  Her favourite subject is mathematics, but she dislikes writing.

Jonathan Alan Musumba

  • born December 3, 2012
  • Jonah is an only child.  His dad died of sickle cell disease when he was very young.
  • He lives with his mom, Jackie, and his cousin, Abraham
  • He attends Riverside Academy, Jinja,  in Primary 2 level

Jonathan is very mechanically inclined, and he loves fixing and assembling toys and other objects.  He hopes to become an automobile mechanic.

His favourite subject is science and art.  He dislikes math and reading.

Abraham Kasooba

  • Attending Winterland Junior School - in Primary 4 year
  • he was born June 30, 2010
  • Abraham's father was killed while working before Abe was born, and his mother was unable to care for him, so he has been adopted by his aunt, Jackie

"Abe" is a quiet child, but expresses himself well when engaged, and is well-liked by other children.  He enjoys football and his best subject is mathematics.  He dislikes social studies. His dream is to become a doctor.  He is a great help about the household.

Hassan Kibenge

  • Attending Lugazi Homeland College, in Senior 4 year
  • Hassan is an only child.  Both parents died of AIDs.
  • He was born on January 16, 2003
  • His mother's business partner had cared for him until she lost her livelihood

Sarah, one of our sponsored children, encouraged Hassan to write a letter to the Kulikayo Organization when she heard of his story and saw his desperate need.  Our executive was brought to tears reading his letter, and instructed Sue and Alan to try to arrange a meeting in person during their January 2019 visit.

Hassan was sponsored by Nicholas Konyer the day after meeting him.  He has been given a position as student liaison person with the teachers, and is responsible for organizing school assemblies.

Olivia Ndagire

  • Born February 24, 2003
  • Olivia is the oldest of four children,  the others being Gloria, Daniel and Jovan.  She is living with her grandmother.
  • She is in her senior year at school, and will be writing national exams

Olivia is very responsible and has adopted a mature mothering role.  Her mother was murdered by the children's father in 2012. Her grandmother and extended family struggle to provide for these children.

Olivia is supported through generosity of John Ireland and Jason Messenger.

Gloria Nankya

  • Born March 3, 2006
  • Second oldest of her three siblings - she is living with her grandmother outside Kampala
  • She is in Senior 2 year at Lugazi Homeland College school

Gloria loves engaging with people and has an enchanting personality.  She excels in school and is very attached to her friends and family.

Daniel Mukisa

  • Born June 4, 2009
  • Sibling of Olivia, Gloria & Jovan - living with his grandmother
  • Now in primary 5 class - he struggles because of missed school in the past

Daniel is a very intense boy.  Outwardly, he seems to suffer the most from the trauma of his mother's death.  He is slow to form attachments, but bonds strongly once that does occur.

Jovan Kisakye Ssuna

  • Born May 15, 2011
  • Youngest of 4 kids and living with his grandmother
  • attending Winterland boarding school in Primary 3

Jovan is a very sweet and lovable child.  Affectionate and huggable, yet ready to rough house with his brother and older sisters.

He tends to be very inquisitive and drives adults crazy with his constant questions.  He is diligent completing his chores at home.

Sasha Nakigudde

Charlotte Nassali

Charlotte has come out of her shell and is very dramatic.  She may have an acting career in the future.  Given time however, she opens up and joins the other children at full tilt.

Babirye Sara Banura

  • Following the death of her grandmother, our employee, Jackie, has graciously taken in Hasifah to live with her

She's happy to help out with child care with the younger Kulikayo kids.  Hasifah has a very serene personality and tends to be independent.
