Fundraise

We are always in search of volunteers to help with fundraising.

We organize an annual autumn gala dinner auction and now a late summer music festival.  Past activities have also included fashion shows and a yard sale.

Let us know if you have any great ideas for new events!  Contact us to volunteer.

Sponsor or Donate

We never cease to be amazed by, and grateful for, the generosity and support of our small community.

If you choose to make a donation, be assured that every dollar will be going directly to the support of the families under our care in Uganda.  Overhead costs are kept low by volunteer efforts, and administrative costs are covered by targeted donations from one or two donors.  Tax receipts eligible for Canada Revenue Agency income tax returns will be issued for donations of $20 or more.

Sponsorship enables you to have ongoing involvement in one child's life.  You will receive letters and drawings and have the chance to communicate with your sponsored child.  Better yet, come to Uganda with us and hold that child's hand while they talk with you about school, home life and their dreams.  Sponsorship costs vary from about $150 per year for a preschool child to $1200 per year for a university student.  Contact us to inquire about sponsorship.

Visit Uganda

We organize a trip to Uganda at least once a year.  Supporters are welcome to accompany us and experience the country and people for themselves.  Be forewarned - such an experience is addictive! On principle, our organization does not provide funds for volunteer travel, but feel free to do your own fundraising.

Accommodation and living expenses while in Africa are very affordable.  The country is beautiful and certainly a major culture shift from North America.  Uganda seems to be more stable and safe for visitors than many other African destinations.

Our agenda consists of visiting with the children and parents.  We review the children's well-being and encourage dialogue around any problems.  We meet with the parents and go over progress in their businesses and their overall living situation.  We try to schedule our visit around one of the longer school breaks in Uganda so we are tentatively looking at mid-January 2019.  This time around, we hope to take the families on a road trip for their first ever visit to one of Uganda's beautiful national parks.  Seeing exotic animals in their natural habitat is truly amazing.

The cost for a two week trip, including airfare, accommodation and meals is in the range of $2000 to $2500 per person.  Check out our past adventures recorded in our blog.

Join Kulikayo

Our organization needs new members.  It is free to join and you will be eligible to vote at our annual meeting in the spring, receive periodic updates about our activities (no more than 4 per year) and have a voice in directing new initiatives.  We are happy to consider new additions to our organization’s board. Let us know if you are interested. We meet about eight times yearly and always keep it fun.
